To enhance the health of northeast Oklahoma through food-based community revitalization.
Fresh food is crucial for the health of our community. Food is connection, nourishment, and memory. And right now, so many Tulsans do not have the access to the food that they deserve.
With 45% of Tulsa living with low access to fresh foods, and a critical 17% of Tulsa's population living in food deserts, fresh food scarcity is a public health problem.
In a food desert, access to quality food is non-existent. Residents must travel several miles to reach a grocery store that carries staple items like fresh produce. When it is easier to buy a gun in your neighborhood then it is an apple, we as a community have a problem.
We believe that access to fresh food should not be a luxury. We believe that no matter who you are, or where you live in our beautiful city, you should have access to fresh, quality foods. We believe that as a community, we can do better.
Together, we can make a change and support the health and wealth of everyone in our community.
